Nonsense! Who says?

Nonsense! Who says?

Frankly speaking, I can not tell you why I love reading nonsense poems or verses, Since my early childhood, I have immensely enjoyed reading or reciting the nonsense or satirical creations of the legendary Bengali poet, Sukumar Ray as well as the funny poems, verses and limericks of Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll and others. Each accompanying illustration with them was always a 'Bonus' and I watched with awe, how the respective 'characters' walked, danced, ran, climbed stairs or dived into water! A real great experience indeed.

When I grew older, I came to understand that sometimes the so called nonsense rhymes were just not sheer nonsense and carried much deeper meanings in them. The amusing and fantastical situations often unfolded the satire before my eyes that were interwoven in them and presented pictures which were hitherto hibernated.

The humour, satire or wit continued to interest me and I myself decided to give them a try at a later stage - through my Bengali nonsense poems and illustrations. May be the meaningless words or pictures in my 'creations' will find your favour and you will further add to the 12,417 visitors, who have already patronized my Blog till my 146th posting. Happy viewing.
