A mixed bouquette of poems today...

142nd Posting :

In India, today (10.08.14), 'Raakhi Purnima' or 'Raksha Bandhan' is celebrated between sisters and brothers.  On this full moon day, sisters tie 'Raakhis' (a sacred thread) on the wrists of their brothers to wish them long life and to strengthen the bond between themselves. A very auspicious day indeed. A picture is being shared with you in this post hailing 'Raakhi Purnima'..

On 7th August, the death anniversary of the legendary poet cum Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore was observed. Tagore, as we know, is the poet who had written poems, short stories, prose and songs for almost every single mood of ours and thus is very dear to us. You'll find one of my recent poems on this subject.

Internet, the gateway to the world of knowledge finds a place in one of my very recent poems, and I wish to share this with you. Also I would like to share a poem that tells the story of a young son of a farmer, who has taken lots of pains & efforts to get himself educated. And finally, a nonsense poem in Bengali with some funny stories in it.

I do not know whether you'll like or appreciate this mixed bouquette or not. But, I am optimistic. Already 11,656 of you have been viewing my Blog till the end of my 141st posting. A big 'thanks' to you all. I am sure, you will patronize this 142nd posting as well.

Happy viewing...

Robin Banerjee.
