A Blog that keeps me moving...

A Blog that keeps me moving...

Way back in 2012, on 11 October, at the insistence of my daughter Soity and her husband, Sourajit, I started to write my Blog for the 1st time : http://robinscreations.blogspot.in/2012/10/ive-arrived.html?showComment=1404048177959#c3985608954476138446. I had no idea whatsoever about a so called electronic diary (Blog) that would help me express my feelings! And it may be of interest to know that I lost interest in it soon after the 1st posting itself. I became silent for months till one fine morning, on 5 May 2013, I decided to revive my Blog again.

My son, Ritam,, an internationally acclaimed commercial photographer based in Mumbai already had his Blog and he too encouraged me to start afresh. My loving wife, Sheila too wanted me to continue. Thus I came again with my 2nd posting on 5 May 2013 : http://robinscreations.blogspot.in/2013/05/active-again.html.

I have tried to be as regular as I could thereafter. With this 134th posting today, my worldwide viewership has reached 10,323 (0740 pm IST/29.06.14) and I wonder if I really deserve so much of love and attention from you! A big thanks to all of you, my readers. Please continue to give me support as ever.

Today's posting carries 5 (five) of my recent poems/rhymes - funny or not-so-funny, nonsense or no-nonsense, penned down by me only recently and the illustration that was used as a Masthead with my 1st posting.

Happy viewing. Happy Ratha-yatra (Chariot festival)...

The mighty Influenza!

The mighty Influenza!

Now I know what a havoc a simple fever like Influenza could cause on my physique! It started with a simple headache about 5 days ago and then gradually took its toll on my limbs and the entire body. The whole body started aching. It was associated with fever and cough & cold and extreme discomfort, besides weakness. Standing on my own feet became difficult and movements? OMG - a strict no no! Such is the power of a small virus that spreads Influenza with so much of ease. Even relief that medicines bring is temporary in nature. One has to bear - simply!

The doctors say that I have to allow the incubation period of the virus to pass by, before I can start afresh - with new vigor and energy. And that 'period' is not less than 5-7 days. What to do, but to accept the bitter fact!. I am marginally better now and thus sharing with you -  four of my Bengali nonsense poems/rhymes plus a funny prose and a picture of 'yours sincerely' in the beginning.

The magic number of 10000!

Time to celebrate!

It's time to thank you all. At last, the magic number of 10000 could be touched!  With its 132 posts published so far, this Blog has been viewed by 10025 viewers from the entire globe. I feel humbled. I feel honored. You have encouraged me. You have tolerated me. And you have shown me the way to move forward. Thanks, my dear viewers. Please continue to visit this place as you have done always.

For a  change, instead of primarily sharing my nonsense poems (Bengali) with you in this post, I am putting some of my old B&W photographs in this issue. Of course, with a recent nonsense poem/rhyme in Bengali at the end.

O my Ghosts!

Ghosts!

It doesn't matter if you believe in them or not. If they are there, they're there. When you are alone, a place, usually dark and silent, may appear to be spooky. It's like you can hear all the whispers and sighs of all the voices of all who ever stayed here. Sort of creepy. And desolate. Creepy like a haunted house when it's empty. Have you ever been to such a place when no one is around? The ghosts may suddenly make their appearance felt - almost from nowhere, and you'll have strange feelings!

Contrary to the belief that ghosts may cause you harm, they are generally powerless to hurt you - can not hope to inflict the kind of damage that real. live people do. The ignorant frighten children with ghosts, and the better educated assure them there's no such thing. Our instincts may believe the former, but our understanding is likely to believe in the latter. Without going into arguments or controversies, it is not a bad idea to invite a 'friendly' ghost into our warm interior, out of the wild night and spend some quality time together.

In this 131st Blog posting, I wish to bring some of my 'friends' (ghosts) into this page - through 7 (seven) of my Bengali nonsense rhymes/poems/verses (illustrations by me) and in the beginning, a picture drawn by me. My 9932 viewers worldwide (till 21.00 hrs IST, 20.06.14) deserve a big 'thank you' for being with me ever since I started writing my Blog. Happy ghosting....

Laugh... and the world laughs with you!

Laughter is the best medicine!

Laugh... and the world laughs with you! You cry... and the world cries with you. Laughter opens the lungs, and opening the lungs ventilates the spirit. A good laugh heals a lot of emotional wounds. A good laugh is a mighty good thing - just like sunshine. Always laugh when you can, because laughter is the best medicine. In fact, a pessimist forgets to laugh, while an optimist laughs to forget. And true it is!

Against an assault of laughter, nothing can stand - said mark Twain. While a soap cleanses the body, laughter freshens the soul. From there to here, here to there, funny things are everywhere. Even the God has a smile on His face! He who laughs, lasts. Laughter has no foreign accent and has its own language that permeates a system or a society. In fact, it affects every part of it. Life is a great big canvas; throw all the paint on it if you can.

In this 130th Blog posting of mine, I am overjoyed to notice that 9819 of you from the entire world are giving me company and visiting my Blog regularly. It's a great satisfaction indeed! Thanks, my dear viewers for your kind patronage.

This issue consists of 7 (seven) Bengali nonsense rhymes/poems penned down by me and 3 pictures of children in different moods. The first two pictures were taken by me in Shimla (India), and the 3rd one in Jamshedpur (India) a couple of years ago..

Spending time with my whimsical creations...

Spending time with my whimsical creations...

I am not a perpetual absentee from my Blog, but the sultry weather prevailing around is making me extremely fatigued and restless. I do not wish to throw any excuse, but this nasty summer with extreme humidity took all my energy away and I did not feel like writing anything for my Blog : robinscreations.blogspot.in during this week.

In the meantime, the World Cup Football has started in Brasil and people around the globe are busy watching the games with apt attention and interest. I have a feeling that most of you may not find time or may not have the inclination to visit my Blog during this period of frenzy. Still I would like to post a few recent Bengali nonsense rhymes/poems penned down by me in the very recent past in this 129th episode of my Blog, with the hope that many of you will go through those utter 'nonsense' , which my Guru, the legendary Sukumar Ray loved the called "Kheyaal Rosh" (or whimsical creations)!

Also posting two of my 'summer' photographs taken by me in Kolkata (India) in the beginning of this Blog. The pictures tell a story. Please feel free to comment or criticize.

Humor, satire or wit?

Humor, satire or wit?

In this 128th episode of my Blog, I can not but express my surprise by watching a spurt in the number of visitors to my 127th Blog - a total of 465 visitors on a single day (from 9065 to 9530)! The total viewership hits rose from 9065 to 9530 within 24 hours. To me, it's a big leap indeed! Thank you my dear viewers from India, USA, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nederlands, UK, UAE, Germany, Cyprus, Lithuania and others for loving & patronizing robinscreations.blogspot.in. on regular basis. Indeed I feel humbled. As of now, the total  figure stands at 9562. Thank you, friends.

I must say that I have been enjoying your company and I feel emboldened to present a few more funny/nonsense Bengali rhymes/poems from my archives. I leave it to you to judge whether they are satire with sarcasm, or simply humor or wit. Also posting a photograph in the beginning that was taken by me a couple of years ago at Toshali Sands (near Puri). Odisha, India. The picture somehow relates my journey to a destination called excellence!  Please feel free to post your comments or criticisms.
